    Carla Adams

    Born Perth WA, 1984
Lives and works in Perth I Boorloo

Carla Adams’ art practice incorporates sculpture, textiles, craft practices, painting and drawing to navigate the complexities of relationships from an embodied, female perspective.

Boldly coloured forms and materials are cleverly used by the artist, often to examine our digital selves and interactions. Whether this is through dating apps, search engines or social media, she brings these virtual exchanges into the realm of the hand-made with works that exude both humour and pathos.

Carla has exhibited in galleries across Australia, most recently at the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) in a joint exhibition with Albert Tucker, titled sorry I was / am too much. As well as being a finalist in a number of awards, her work is held in important collections including the Cruther’s Collection of Women’s Art, the City of Fremantle Collection, Curtin University Art Collection and AGWA.
