Taryn Ossowski

Taryn Ossowski’s luminous paintings are doorways to other worlds, equally beautiful and mysterious, they veer between the figurative and abstract. Her skill lies in working with pigments from the earth to create dreamlike ethereal paintings that capture light and explore layers of consciousness.
Taryn's methodology has emerged from a synthesis of creativity, psychology and mysticism, informed by her practice as a transpersonal art therapist. She has developed a painting practice that attempts to honour the physical properties of earth pigment – their vivid, lucid, subtle and vibrant quality and sees the earth minerals as agentic within the process.
Through the ritual of rhythmic layering of pigment and mark-making, Taryn creates paintings that are thresholds for imaginative engagement and psychological exploration.
She holds several qualifications, including Master of World Arts Heritage (BTU Germany) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (UNSW Sydney). She has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney. In 2023, she undertook the Saruya Artist Residency in Fujiyoshida, Japan.
