Kahli Perkins in Sunshine Coast Art Prize
Congratulations to Kahli Perkins who is a finalist in this year’s Sunshine Coast Art Prize, which will soon be presented at the Caloundra Regional Gallery.
A significant prize, the art award attracts emerging and established artists from across Australia. This year’s guest judge for the major prizes is Renai Grace, Director/CEO, Museum of Brisbane. The winners will be announced on Thursday 23 September 2021.
Kahli Perkins’ selected work, Interference Pattern (Cadmium Red and Ultramarine Blue) 2021, is from a series she presented earlier this year, Interference Patterns at the QCA Galleries in Brisbane. Using the concept of waves, both in terms of light and colour, the body of work featured her uniquely created abstract paintings that appear to gently glow and hum with colour.
The exhibition is on at Caloundra Regional Gallery from 27 August to 10 October 2021.
